Hi, thanks for engaging. I don’t deny that kids have an affinity to learn. But my essay deals with responsibility, not interest. These two are different things.

As to why adults (educators) are putting themselves between students and their learning, because everyone deserves guidance. Even the most independent students need guidance. So, I think some intervention is necessary. But that doesn’t diminish their responsibilities towards learning. I’d be glad if every student one day can learn without any intervention from educators. But I don’t think this is plausible. Even as an independent adult learner, I need guidance every now and then.
