I consider myself a perfectionist. Oftentimes, I hate myself for being one. Nothing seems to be ever enough. It's also why I don't like working in groups, especially with people who expect less about themselves. I certainly see detriments in being over-demanding. I've experienced it first-hand with my classmates and my colleagues.

But I can't help to think what's the antithesis to perfectionism? It seems like one either strives for perfection, or one doesn't. I don't think I can ever advocate the latter. If we're assigned to do something, or we've signed up to do it, we should strive for the best, and nothing less.

Perhaps you could share a little of what you might think to be the "middle ground?"
