That’s an amazing rhetoric! Yeah, sometimes it’s easier to understand what things aren’t rather than what they are. There many sources out there explaining what philosophy is and what philosophers do. None, in my opinion, sufficiently captures what we do. For me, I study morality: what we should and shouldn’t do. We try to come up with the best theories to explain why we behave in certain ways, and how we ought to behave. Once again, different philosophers give different answers.
