Timely article! A point of contention: privilege and rights are often confounded in everyday discourse. Sometimes, ‘privilege’ can pacify ‘rights’ or ‘respect’. For example, i have friends on scholarships often thinking that they should be tolerating base treatments because they’re ‘privileged’.
